SPECIFICATION OF LIQUID BROMINE

DESCRIPTION:
Liquid Bromine is a dark, reddish brown fuming substance with a suffocating odour. Bromine isa hightly reactive and in presence of water is a powerful oxidising agent. It reacts vigorously with amines, olefins and phenols as well as aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones and acids, brominating them either by addition or substitution. Bromine itself is non-explosive and non-flammable. It is a severe pulmonary and primary skin irritant.

    STORAGE & HANDLING:
    Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Protect containers against physical damage. Place separately from organic combustibles or other readily oxidisable materials. Keep above -7°C to prevent freezing. Provide ventilation at floor level.
