FIRST AID MEASURES
If poisoning is suspected do not wait for symptoms to develop. Call a doctor, clinic or hospital immediately. Explain that the victim is exposed to deltamethrin pyrethroid and describe his condition.

Ingestion
Call for medical attention immediately. Vomiting should be induced only under professional supervision. Never give anything by mouth if person is unconscious. Make the person lie down and keep him warm and clam. Apply gastric lavage. Keep respiratory and heart functions under observation and control.

Inhalation
Move the victim to fresh air immediately. If breathing has stopped perform artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult administer oxygen. Get medical attention immediately.

Eye Contact
Wash eyes immediately with large amounts of water atleast for 20 minutes lifting the lower and upper lids intermitantly. Get medical attention.

Skin Contact
Wash affected area with plenty of water and soap. Simultaneously remove Contaiminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention.

Antidote / Dosages
No specific antidote. Treat symptomatically and supportively.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Fire extinguishing media
Dry chemical, Carbondioxide, Water spray or standard foam.

Special procedure
Move containers from fire area if can be done without risk. Keep upwind. Do not breathe vapours. Use self contained breathing apparatus.

Unusual Hazards
May include toxic & corrosive fumes of Bromides and toxic oxides of Carbon and Nitrogen.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal Precautions
Keep unnecessary people away. Locate hazard area and deny entry. Do not smoke. Avoid contact and inhalation of the product. Ventilate closed places before entering.

Precautions for Environment
Avoid exposure. Deltamethrin is toxic to fish and bees. In case of accidental spill prevent the material from going into lakes, rivers and other bodies of water and to areas where bees population may be present. Isolate discharged material and keep material out of water source. Prevent product from entering drains. Do not gaze or feed clipping from treated areas to live stock.

Personal Protection
Wear suitable chemical protective clothing, boots, chemical resistant gloves, goggles, respiratory protective mask approved for pesticide mist.

Clean up methods
Wear protective equipment. For small spills take up with inert absorbant material such as sand or clay. Shovel up into container for later disposal. For large spills, dike ahead of spill and absorb on absorbent material and dispose off in accordance with local regulations.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HANDLING AND STORAGE
Do not smoke, drink or eat during handling. Wash hands using liquid detergent. Wear Protective clothing to avoid contact with the material. Before removing gloves wash them with soap and water. Eliminate all sources of ignition from the area where material is handled or used. Follow good personal hygiene practice.

Store in cool, dry, well ventilated area in tightly closed, properly labelled containers in area designed specifically for pesticides. Keep out of reach of children and unauthorised persons. Keep away from excessive heat or flame and also away from food or drink and incompatible materials.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EXPOSURE CONTROL / PERSONAL PROTECTION
Respiratory protection Air line respirator or supplied air respirator with full face mask.
Eye protection Safety splash proof impact resistant goggles with face shield.
Skin protection Chemical resistant gloves and appropriate protective clothing to cover whole body.
Other equipment Provide eyewash fountain and emergency shower in washing area.
Provide local exhaust or general dilution ventilation to maintain work place concentration below permissible exposure limit.
